Phase I Approx 500 fruit and local plants were provided to the Southern Command Provost Unit (Military Police Unit) near Bishop School on 16 July 2019.We also invited the staff of Holywood Gurudwara to share the event with us as part of 550 th BD Ceremony of the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji.There was tremendous enthusiasm from our Rtns,Anns and a huge presence of the Army personnel as well as the Staff of the HW Gurudawara who all planted the trees. Phase II Phase two was carried out the very next day ie 17 July 2019 at Gurkha Battalion (Location held for security reasons).Here too the enthusiasm of the Rtns,Anns and the soldiers was sky high .Here too we planted approx 500 plants. Phase III There was a lull in execution of Phase III because the recipient unit ie Southern Command Signal Regiment got operationally committed in Flood Relief duties towards the Aid to Civil Authorities.This was followed by a series of Inspections and visits of Senior Commanders in the unit.The unit,therefore,carried out plantation of about 300 plants in their own time.A small team of Rtns and Anns carried out the plantation of 100 plus trees at the Public Park and Football Stadium at Sopan Baugh.This project was thought of by Ann Suraj,Aarti after a meeting between the local Corporator and Anns Suraj,Aarti,self and Rtn Maithali.
