Rotary Club of Poona;s signature Annual Fundraiser Dandiya 2019, event started way back n 1997, & from that year, that Venky's has been our major sponsor. Every year the event is conducted in the ambient premises of the Poona Club on Bund Garden Road. Several other big & small sponsors have been regularly patronising our event and we give free Event passes to our Donors. The fund collected this year was more than 14.5 lacs and it is with these funds that we have been able to carry out our community projects. Also the main Public Image activity of our Club as the event is attended by the executive employees of our sponsors, & special invitees of our club members. This year 'DANDIYA 2019' was much bigger & better , And as anticipated, we had almost 650 guest participants, highest in the history of our past Dandiya events, The participants included many Rotarians from as many as 20 Rotary Clubs of Pune, Rotaractors, as well as this year's RYE students. This eventRtn PP Kranti Shah was the Anchor. Kranti did a great job of compering & engaged the participants and made the evening most memorable. oUR EMINENT jUDGES THIS YEAR WERE -- Mrs Preeti Kochhar - a Model, Pr for a lifestyle magazine, Event Organizer, Pageant Groomer & Jury for Pageants. 2) Turan Desai - Oour own R/Ann & Inner wheel member who trains Choirs & an accomplished Piano player& 3) Vrinda Shah - Past President of Inner Wheel, Teaches Classical music & a business woman. We had almost 12 -14 category of competitions & our judges had a tough time choosing the winners, as there were plenty of excellent dancers on the floor, thus had to give joint prizes to a few categories. Several of our member Rotarian generously sponsored the prizes Our own Col Gurcharan Singh Kohli, through his company - Classique Guards, provided 6 alert guards to monitor the entrance, exit & overall safety of the event.DJ Prithvi did a wonderful job, belting out the most popular & foot stomping Garbha & Dandiya music, which kept the participants glued to the floor,
