Today we had a very brilliant and knowledgeable session or project with Eco warrior Mrs Meeta Bannerjee @Guru Nanak Public school Camp Pune . We had an excellent session with her , This session attended by 8th , 9th &11th std and about 300 students participated . Interact Chairman Rtn Faizy welcomed every one and our Interact President Krishna introduced the chief guest Mrs Meeta Bannerjee . . The highlights of the project 1) She spoke about segregation of garbage 2) She made the children and the teacher realise that our garbage is our responsibility 3) She showed the problems this earth and our city Pune is facing because of this garbage and plastic . 4) Main highlight was on plastic waste. 5) After the problem she focused on the solution and in a very simple way she taught them how to get rid of plastic and where we should collect them and after 15 days where we should send the plastic waste . 6) She made them have pledge that they will treat this problem themselves and the school and the teachers will help them . They have to send each and every plastic item for recycling .so the students and we all took a pledge. She showed all of us the bamboo toothbrush which we all bought for rs 50 each and pencils made from waste paper. Each pencil is for ?5 . It was a very good , interactive and successful project. Every second and fourth Saturday the Rudra team comes and collect the e waste , plastic waste& other dry waste. She doesn’t want to be felicitated with any thing but she said give her as much as plastic things and she is very happy to have them. President Maithili gave her observation She said that she herself is Eco Friendly . She appreciated Meeta for making change in the world of many students and turning them into Eco warriors. President elect Rtn Narinderpal said that great saint was saying when he was small he wanted to change the world but while growing up he thought that he can’t change d country unless he doesn’t change himself . He described what is difference between a safai wala and a kachra wala . It was quite interesting .
