This is a continuing project that was initiated on January 1, 2015. Rotary Club of Poona received a Global Grant of $155450 (Rs.94 lakhs). The village is situated at an elevation of 900 mtrs above MSL. The main objective is Soil and water conservation, treating the sloping areas of land to check the run off of water and the soil therewith. The program is being implemented by Nandanvan Trust Pune and monitored by us. The scope of the project is to treat 180 hectare of hilly land. Direct benefits to 50 families of the village Mhasobawadi. The project implementation on an area of 69.61 ha in the past one year has resulted in 16.82 ha. additional area being brought under cultivation, change in the cropping pattern and enhanced water availability in the existing 3 wells. All this development is achieved by an initial investment of Rs.24 lakhs. Further sum of Rs.24 lakhs would be advanced to Nandanvan Trust by 31/01/2016. RC Poona would spend about 50% of Global Grant (Rs.48 lakhs out of Rs.94 lakhs) by 30/06/2016.
